Gain essential IT skills for university and tech careers
Level 4 Diploma in Information Technology aims to equip learners with a diverse skill set for various roles in the IT industry, covering cyber security, programming, applications, network technology, and digital information management. Completion opens doors to both higher education and employment, providing essential skills for success in the evolving tech sector.
Level 4 Diploma in Information Technology is an Ofqual-regulated qualification at RQF Level 4, academically equivalent to a Higher National Certificate (HNC) and the first year of a UK Bachelor's degree. The programme consists of six mandatory units, totaling 120 credits, and requires 1200 hours of Total Qualification Time (TQT) and 480 Guided Learning Hours (GLH). Flexible delivery options include face-to-face, part-time, and distance learning.
Each unit is worth 20 credits. Students will cover all six units and earn 120 credits upon completion.
Level 4 Diploma in Information Technology involves internal assessment by the center and external verification for all units. The qualifications are criterion-referenced, evaluating learners based on the attainment of specified learning outcomes. To pass a unit, learners must present evidence demonstrating fulfillment of all learning outcomes and meeting assessment criteria standards, with the Assessor making the judgment. An audit trail detailing how the overall achievement judgment for learners has been determined should be provided by the Assessor.
Successful completion of our qualification aligns with the university's standard academic entry requirements. Nevertheless, individual assessments and other entry criteria may impact each applicant's university entry. Each university has confirmed progression arrangements, and as our qualifications are approved and regulated by Ofqual, learners have the eligibility to advance to a top-up degree, master’s program, or MBA at various universities in the UK and overseas with advanced standing.
Graduates of this qualification have the opportunity to progress directly into the second year of UK university degree programmes.
